Unroot a Device

The Unroot Device action restores the stock boot image that LTBox backed up before rooting. Connect the tablet (USB debugging or Bootloader mode — see Connecting a Device), then select it in the sidebar and follow the wizard.

01 / Method

Restore method

Choose the method you used to root the device:

  • Magisk / LKM — restores the init_boot and vbmeta partition (Magisk, or any KernelSU-family root in LKM mode).
  • GKI / APatch / SKRoot — restores the boot partition (APatch / FolkPatch, or KernelSU-family root in GKI mode).

02 / Folder

Backup folder

Select the folder with the images to restore. Pick the backup_init_boot / backup_boot folder LTBox saved during rooting rather than the original firmware images — see Keep your backup for why this matters. The folder must contain init_boot.img (or boot.img) and vbmeta.img.

03 / Loader

EDL loader

Same loader as rooting — see EDL loader.

04 / Start

Start

Review the Confirm screen, then press Start. The device enters EDL, the files you selected are flashed, and it reboots into the system.

05 / Recovery

If the device won't boot

If the device fails to boot after unrooting, first double-check that you selected the correct backup files. If that doesn't fix it, reflash the entire firmware with Keep Data — see Install Same Region Firmware or Install Other Region Firmware.
